Concept Artist

About the Role

Lightfox Games is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Concept Artist to join our Vancouver, British Columbia based team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher. This is a fully remote role. Vancouver-based team members may be asked to travel to our Seattle office once or twice a year for on-sites.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art across characters, enemies, and environments that define the visual language of the game
• Collaborate closely with Art Direction to keep alignment on the connection to the established IP
• Produce clear, implementation-ready reference for 3D artists, environment artists, and other production team members
• Iterate rapidly based on feedback from Art Direction, Design, and leadership, maintaining quality under production timelines
• Contribute to building a cohesive visual style guide and asset library that scales across the game's content needs

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional concept art experience in games, with at least one shipped title in your portfolio
• Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across characters, environments, and props, with a range of styles and moods
• Proficiency in Photoshop and/or Procreate; comfortable working digitally across the full concept pipeline from rough ideation to polished finals
• Solid understanding of color, light, anatomy, and perspective as applied to game production contexts
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in small, fast-moving teams

Nice to Have

• Experience creating concept art for mobile free-to-play games
• Experience working within an established IP or licensed property
• Ability to concept across multiple styles or aesthetics, including stylized and semi-realistic
• Experience with isometric, top-down, or strategy game visual styles
• Experience leveraging AI tools in concept exploration or ideation workflows

Compensation

CA$70,000 – CA$90,000 depending on experience, plus health/vision/dental coverage, RRSP matching, and equity.
