Coloring Book Artists

About the Opportunity

The Rat City Arts Festival is seeking to feature 20 digital/visual artists who live, work, or have a meaningful connection to the Allston-Brighton community to develop a page for our Rat City Coloring Book**.** While the application is open to all, emerging artists are especially encouraged to apply! Completed works will be organized into a coloring book to be provided to guests during the Rat City Arts Festival on Saturday, August 1st. Artwork and selected artists' names/instagram will be shared on our social media. 

This is a paid opportunity that benefits our community! Each chosen artist will be paid $25 for their coloring book page. 

Expectations, Theme, Medium

We ask that artists develop their sketch with just line work, with good room for guests to fill in colors throughout the page. 

Artists should consider Rats, Rat City, Allston, or the Rat City Arts Festival in the creation of their work. Use this opportunity to draw or sketch local scenes in Rat City, businesses in Allston-Brighton, or even connections to this year's theme of "Plague Doctor". 

Timeline

• Application Opens: Wednesday, July 2nd
• Application Closes: Wednesday, July 15th 9PM
• Artist Selection Notice: Wednesday, July 15th 11PM
• Coloring Book Pages Due:  Wednesday, July 29th 11:59PM
• Festival: Saturday, August 1st 3pm-10pm at the Charles River Speedway

Payment

Artists will be paid $25 for their completed artwork via Venmo (standard) or check (upon request).

We plan on paying artists using Venmo but will also request information if a physical check is needed.
