In-between Animator (Douga)

About this Role
This is a project-based position for our debut project, The SYX. We are currently producing our first trailer and are looking to hire three in-between animators (douga) to join our team.
The role involves creating in-between animation for a trailer estimated at approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes in total length, based on our key animation. Responsibilities include producing clean, consistent in-between drawings that follow the established key poses and maintain the intended motion, timing, and acting of each shot.
The workload will be divided between the three selected in-between animators and one of our in-house animators. A total of four in-between animators will be working on the trailer.
The total compensation for this role is CAD $1,400 per animator, covering the full scope of the trailer work. This is a work-for-hire position, and Bonsai Animations will retain full IP rights. This role does not include royalties.
Bonsai Animations is an indie studio in its early stages, and while we are not able to offer full-time positions at this time, we are looking to build long-term creative relationships with artists we collaborate with.
Selection process
- Shortlisted applicants (top 6) will be invited to complete a brief trial animation.
- Only the work of the final selected animators will be used in the trailer.

- We will be selecting three final candidates for this role.
Our style
We are looking for animators who are able to adapt to our anime style and maintain consistency across characters.
