Surfing Giant Europe is looking for experienced and passionate animation talent to join our team on an exciting 2D animated series!

Surfing Giant Europe creates original content with captivating stories, enriched by stunning animation and unique music. Our projects combine creativity and skill to push the boundaries of storytelling. With studios locations in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Manchester, UK and Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

We are looking for an Animation Director to join our talented team working on a high-profile 2D animated series for Disney TVA.

The successful candidate will: 

• Have conversational English language skills.
• Expert-level knowledge of Toonboom software and pipeline
• Seasoned experience on a fast-paced rigged animation production pipeline and with previous experience as a supervising or animation directing role.
• ·Strong communication skills to provide constructive feedback and lead creative teams through clear detailed notes.
• Works with Series Director, Assistant Animation Director, and Production to break down the animatic and create detailed animation brief, helping to estimate schedules, foresee any impending issues and ensure project deadlines are met. 
• Reviews all animation passes from internal or external teams to maintain high quality and meets the Series Director and Project standards and consistency throughout.
• Managing department schedules to meet deadlines and reporting to Production.
• Daily Management of Animation team.
• To assign retakes within the team.
• Be willing to take on constructive feedback.
• Have excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to be a key team member.
• An understanding of file management software (Ftrack) would be an advantage.
