Head of Story

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Head of Story to join our talented team here at our Dublin Studio. The successful candidate will deliver the script’s intent by successfully translating it into a visual language that is funny, emotional, and clear. The Head of Story is the Director’s primary creative partner, responsible for ensuring that the key narrative pillars of the series are visually well-defined.
This is a Fixed-Term, 12 month contract based in our Dublin Studio.
Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days per week required in the studio.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director to achieve clear narrative goals for the series
- Ensure the Storyboard and Editing team have clarity on set goals
- Take day-to-day ownership of story challenges from script drafts
- Ensure Art Director and CG Supervisor can execute visual story beats within the scope of the show
- Review launch notes for Storyboard Launch and participate in the launch calls if required
- Review Storyboards on an on-going basis, in sequences, for Rough and Final Board
- If required, review storyboard panel revisions and approve them for editorial
- Editorial Passes where needed in advance of Director sign off.
- Review and respond to client feedback in relation to Story moments
- Deliver Animatics to Director
- Development and mentorship of Storyboard Talent.
- Input on casting and recruitment for Storyboard team
- Weekly catch up with the Storyboard Supervisor and Director
- Responsible for one or multiple productions, subject to overlap
- Responsibility: for storyboard bible on assigned Project with support/oversight on Bibles for other projects where needed.
- Casting storyboard team members across series (in collaboration with Directors)
Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of cinematography, character acting, staging, and storytelling principles.
- +10 years' experience in a similar role with a background in writing or storyboarding
- Exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
Salary: 57,000.00 - 70,000.00
