ABOUT THE POSITION

Responsibilities

Art Creation

  • Create good quality character art content based on the needs of the team and project while receiving support from senior members.
  • Learn from peers, mentors, and the industry to create good quality artwork that aligns with the project’s technical standards.
  • Ensure all created art content adheres to engine and platform constraints while meeting established deadlines.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and constant openness to learn and improve on various artstyles as required by the project.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Character Lead and other team members to ensure characters meet both visual, gameplay, and technical expectations.
  • Constantly challenge your craft to show growth and bring new, fresh knowledge to the team through your work.
  • Collaborate with adjacent departments (Animation, Rigging, Tech Art) to ensure assets are production-ready and technically sound.

Communication & Learning

  • Actively listen to and implement impactful, constructive feedback from leads and senior artists.
  • Maintain a continuous ability to learn and grow with the long-term goal of becoming a fully autonomous artist.
  • Pay close attention to the details of your own work and specifically seek guidance on how to further improve your technical and artistic skills.

Pipeline & Technical

  • Stay on top of emerging tools, technologies, and trends in character art, scanning pipelines, shaders, and real-time rendering.

Qualifications

  • 0-2+ years of experience in real-time character art production for games, with a focus on learning industry standards.
  • A solid understanding of human and creature anatomy, silhouette, proportion, and form.
  • Familiarity with character sculpting, modeling, and texturing using tools like ZBrush, Maya/Blender, and Substance Painter.
  • An openness to working across both stylized and realistic visual styles based on project needs.
  • Understanding of PBR workflows and real-time rendering constraints.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail on how to further improve art skills.
  • Passionate about games and committed to delivering world-class character experiences.
