Job Purpose
To create accurate, level-appropriate and high-quality illustrations for learning and assessment materials, while adhering to established brand guidelines and production timelines
Principal Accountabilities:
- Create original illustrations in line with defined visual styles, briefs and brand guidelines
- Use digital tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to develop and refine high-quality artwork efficiently
- Interpret and translate visual requirements accurately for educational contexts
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all output
- Contribute to improvements in illustration workflows and production processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, copyright and quality standards
Skills and Requirement:
- Strong illustration skills, demonstrated through a portfolio of original work
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
- Experience working within established brand or visual style frameworks
- Prior experience illustrating for educational content
- Familiarity with accessibility considerations in educational visuals
- Experience collaborating with editors, designers or content developers in a production environment
Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrable experience as an illustrator, preferably within educational publishing or a structured production environment
- Strong understanding of illustration fundamentals
- Experience interpreting briefs and adapting illustration style to meet predefined guidelines
- Understanding of visual consistency, accessibility and clarity for learning materials
