Gray Zone Warfare has been under development in our bustling offices for more than three years. This new game is an immersive tactical FPS with a maximum focus on realism, immersive gameplay, and stunning graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. This is an on-site position in Brno, Czech Republic.
Our team is searching for an experienced Senior / Lead Character Artist to help with the creation of an expanding vivid world of Gray Zone Warfare.
If you have a passion for creating top-notch, realistic characters and true-to-life military equipment with all the details and touches, you are very welcome! We also ask for excellent knowledge of technical aspects of character creation for FPS, optimization, and pipelines in Unreal 4 and 5. We value a collaborative spirit and close cooperation with all team members. Your role is integral to our main goal - creating characters that our players will appreciate and love.
What is your mission:
- Lead and guide the team to create stunning, realistic characters for Gray Zone Warfare
- Sculpt/model, UV & texture, high & low polygon meshes in a PBR pipeline.
- Working closely with the Game Director and Art Director, being able to receive, apply, and give constructive feedback.
- Rendering, posing, composition, and presentation of characters for promotional materials.
- Cooperation with the Concept Art and Animation teams, maintain a high quality character art pipeline.
- Effective planning and preparation of documentation and pipelines for colleagues or outsource studios.
- Grow and maintain a great level of Character Art Team skills and techniques.
Who are we looking for:
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Character Artist in game development, with at least one AAA title shipped at a Senior or Lead position, preferably on Unreal Editor 4 or higher.
- Excellence in all aspects of Character modeling and texturing (Heads, Hair, Clothing, Gear, able to achieve hyper-realism for all Genders, Ages, Races, Muscular, even Psychologic human types).
- Team skills, Drive, Ownership, Honesty.
- Enthusiasm for military gear and equipment is welcome.
- Exceptional understanding of the human form/anatomy with a focus on realistic characters.
- Strong knowledge of the technical aspects of character creation for FPS and open-world games, including modular character planning, blendshape preparation, facial animation pipelines, skinning, and game character optimization.
- Expert knowledge of Unreal Editor, such as Material Graph Editor, Authoring for Unreal, etc.
- Expert knowledge of industry-standard software applications, including ZBrush, 3ds Max, Maya, Adobe Substance Package, and Photoshop.
- Exceptional texturing skills in Substance Painter and/or Photoshop and PBR workflow.
- Eligibility to work in the European Union.
- Willingness to move to Brno, Czech Republic.
