ABOUT THE POSITION
Responsibilities
Report to: Character Art Director / Character Art Team Leader
Sparx* is looking for a Senior Character Artist to be part of our creative team and work on ambitious AAA. This is a full-time position based in our office In Ho-Chi-Minh Ville (Vietnam), which involves working with international clients.
The Senior Character Artist will be responsible for modeling the characters required in the production of a game. The person will work in a collaborative spirit both within the team and with other departments, such as Concept Art, Animation, Rigging, Game Design, etc. to ensure the successful completion and top quality of the game.
Who we are looking for
- Produce models and textures of 3D characters, objects, and scenes in the real-time 3D game engine, demonstrating expertise in both artistic and technical aspects.
- Establish and maintain a strong understanding of project art requirements and specific needs.
- Efficiently execute tasks assigned, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of project schedules, while consistently surpassing quality expectations.
- Provide guidance to the juniors in aligning their work with overall project goals.
- Using a Checklist perform initial art and technical quality, ensuring all assets meet or exceed the project's standards before submitting to the Team Leader for review.
- Proactively address and resolve any issues or feedback provided by the Producer, Team Leader, Art Director, or Client.
- Promptly report to the Team Leader about any difficulties encountered.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in high-quality modeling of high-poly models, and low-poly production with correct geometry and texturing of characters.
- Expert in multiple major 3D and 2D packages (3DS Max or Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance) and techniques for Characters, Creatures, and Costuming).
- Strong anatomy, form, and detail execution.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and uphold high quality standards.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
- Passionate and motivated to join the Game Industry.
