Job Description

Titmouse is seeking 90's style Directors for a variety of projects such as video game trailers, series, short films, and more. We are interested in Directors with samples in a style similar to Ninja Scroll, Cowboy Bepop, Street Fighter, Ghost in the Shell, and Vampire Hunter D.

Format: Onsite, Hybrid, or Remote (International applicants are welcome to apply)

Type of Contract: Full-time

Start Dates: December 2025 - June 2026

Reports to: Supervising Director or Chief Creative Officer, depending on the type of project

If the work for this position is performed within the geographical jurisdiction of the collective bargaining agreement, it will be covered by that agreement.

Job Description:

The Director participates in all creative aspects and phases of the production to achieve the overall completion of the assigned project/episodes, and guides creative team in tandem with the Supervising Director or studio leadership in order to bring the script to life.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Prior experience in 2D storyboarding or 2D Animation.
  • Prior storyboard directing or animation directing experience.
  • Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
  • A team player with demonstrated visual and storytelling sensibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of production crew, artistic staff, and management.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with the Line Producer, Supervising Director, Art Director, and studio leadership to discuss creative ambitions and producibility for each episode.
  • Oversee revisions and provide notes ongoing to ensure the style and vision for the project is maintained.
  • Participate in all storyboard handouts with assigned storyboard team members by communicating storytelling direction, design requirements, and expected level of polish.
  • Participate in storyboard reviews and provide clear notes for revisions.
  • Evaluate the continuity and quality of all storyboards and punch up the storyboards and/or animatics as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation of notes into storyboards.
  • Review animatics with Animatic Editors to direct pacing.
  • Provide status updates, troubleshoot, and review potential changes on a regular basis with production staff.
  • Mentor and support the storyboard team and cultivate positive team morale.
  • Manage animatics at all stages of the assigned episode(s) including animatic pitches, revisions, and lock.
