Role Overview

We are seeking a Children’s Storybook Illustrator & Graphic Designer to join our team full-time in a fully remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in children’s book illustration, a deep understanding of visual storytelling, and the ability to translate narratives into engaging, child-friendly artwork and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Illustrate children’s picture books, creating characters, settings, and scenes that are visually appealing and age-appropriate.
• Develop original artwork styles or adapt to existing styles to match each project’s vision.
• Design book layouts, including typography, page composition, and cover design.
• Collaborate closely with writers, editors, and the creative team to bring stories to life.
• Prepare final artwork files for print and digital publishing platforms.
• Ensure brand consistency across illustrations and designs while fostering creativity and innovation.
• Meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an illustrator and/or graphic designer, with a strong portfolio of children’s book illustrations.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and illustration software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Procreate, etc.).
• Strong understanding of children’s storytelling, visual literacy, and age-appropriate design.
• Ability to create both traditional and digital illustrations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.

Nice to Have

• Experience with animation, motion graphics, or interactive media.
• Familiarity with book publishing processes (print and digital).
• Understanding of diverse and inclusive representation in children’s media.
