Job Description

Hello!

Innersloth is a small remote team scattered mostly in North America. We released Among Us in 2018 and are now working on a new narrative game. We are looking to expand our creative team with a temporary (12-18 months,) full-time, Senior 2D Animator.

Your focus will play a crucial role in delivering completed animation assets for a new IP, along with assisting in art asset concept and design. You will get a lot of help along the way - working closely in a creative tandem with our Principal Animator along with support from our Creative Director will provide you with frequent rounds of feedback, clear direction, and leave space for your creativity to shine. A willingness to learn, pitch your own ideas, and give and receive feedback is essential for this role.

We especially encourage marginalized groups and people from underrepresented backgrounds, genders, and locations to apply. Diverse voices make Innersloth better, and we strive to continue creating a diverse and welcoming space from the ground up.

Please note this is not an entry-level position, but we'll consider strong candidates with general experience working in animation, particularly those with extensive experience using Adobe Animate/Flash. Please absolutely include these things in your application!

What we're looking for:

Proactivity, independence, and accountability are extremely important for this position. On top of that, a strong eye for style matching (both in art style and animation style) and the ability to adapt as needed. If you are excited to collaborate with other creatives, handle direction and feedback well, and love flash-style animation, we want to hear from you!

The following points outline the experience and skills that we strongly prefer. None of these are strict dealbreakers, but reflect the type of experience we feel would lead to finding the right candidate for this position.

What you'll be doing:

Primarily

  • Animating and style matching character actions based on roughs and direction provided by the creative director
  • Creating 2D animations from scratch based on references provided, from multiple angles

Secondarily

  • Providing non-animated art assets based on direction provided by the creative director
  • Working with other artists on concept art

Our expectations:

  • 3+ years experience of professional 2D flash-style animation experience
  • Proficiency in the use of Adobe Animate/flash
  • Very comfortable giving, receiving and acting on frequent rounds of feedback
  • A proficiency in task/project management software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate your ideas, and suggestions
  • The ability to collaborate and work well in a team-based, dynamic, cross-functional setting

Nice to have:

  • Education related to the role is an asset but not required
  • Good understanding of anatomy and being able to draw the same object from many different angles

Our offer

  • A guaranteed temporary (12-18 month,) full-time, remote, work from home position.

  • We're looking to have someone start in this role for early November 2025

  • While this temporary position is set for 12-18 months, we're open to discussing an extension should the need be proven and required for project completion.

  • Our company core hours are 10 AM to 2 PM PT, Monday to Friday. You would be expected to be online during this time but how you make up the rest of your day is up to you.

  • You will be responsible to ensure you can perform your job effectively and efficiently.

  • We are comfortable working with local HR companies or creating subsidiaries over time to better support staff in other countries.

  • A competitive salary.

  • Benefits (or in-kind), appropriate for the role. Health, retirement, vacations, etc.

  • A guarantee that your position is safe and stable for the duration of this project - regardless of what's happening around us, we have a very healthy financial runway.

  • A collection of friendly, diverse workmates and partner companies.
