Job Title: Artist (Middleweight)

This is a 6 month contract

Location: Remote - We are only accepting applications from within the UK

Reports to: Art Director

Line Management Responsibilities: None

Summary

  • The role of 2D Middleweight Artist is to produce high quality art assets in-keeping with the Fusebox brand. Working alongside the Art Director to take concepts and ideas to final game ready assets. Expected to constantly develop artistic knowledge and demonstrate supporting junior team members by training, and mentorship/ coaching.
  • Solid foundation in art fundamentals, highly experienced in character and proficient in environment art.
  • Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, colour theory, light, form and composition. Produce technically accurate work consistently to a high level, for mobile game platforms. The Artist will be adaptable to various styles, required to work on a range of games, reporting into the Art Director. Keep abreast of industry trends, new ideas and techniques which can be implemented into our workflow.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team on various projects and able to time manage, to meet deadlines. Liaising with other departments to identify requirements. Be open to regular feedback sessions, taking onboard direction and vision for the game.
  • Confident in creating artwork from sketch phase to rendered, game ready polished assets

Main Aspects of the Role

  • Creating characters and background art to a high quality to maintain consistent quality of work across all art asset
  • Work as part of a team of artists
  • Take onboard constructive feedback
  • Creating conceptual art for characters and environments
  • Take briefs and concept ideas through to final artwork and release

Requirements

  • Qualifications & Training: Art related degree or experience in games
  • Practical Experience: Excellent digital painting skills and anatomy knowledge
  • Practical Experience: Adobe suite, character design, environment design, game ready assets
  • Technical & Practical Skills: Experience of creating game ready art assets to development team requirements
  • Behaviours & Attributes: Passion for creating art, welcomes constructive feedback, Pro-active attitude, Excellent communication skills
