Job Description
create simple + funny boxes.
what you’ll do:
- storyboard 5–10 minute script
- specify comedic timing, camera angles, and transitions (awkward pauses, zooms, etc.)
- keep the visual style extremely simple (think: stick figures, basic backgrounds)
what we’re looking for:
- funny: strong comedic instinct. pacing, timing, and visual humor
- clear storyboard: ability to pace a joke visually (camera zooms, cut timing, etc.)
- fast turnaround time: we move fast, so you need to finish a few scenes per day
examples of humor we like:
- deadpan absurdity: serious delivery of ridiculous lines
- timing is everything: awkward pauses, delayed zooms, or punchlines that hit a second late
- unexpected transitions: jump cuts that escalate or derail the joke
- real images or effects: used at just the wrong time for maximum effect
- keep it simple: stick figures, rough sketches, basic backgrounds
- visual punchlines: zooms, stares, and cutaways that are the joke
example of humor
