Job Description

create simple + funny boxes.

what you’ll do:

  • storyboard 5–10 minute script
  • specify comedic timing, camera angles, and transitions (awkward pauses, zooms, etc.)
  • keep the visual style extremely simple (think: stick figures, basic backgrounds)

what we’re looking for:

  • funny: strong comedic instinct. pacing, timing, and visual humor
  • clear storyboard: ability to pace a joke visually (camera zooms, cut timing, etc.)
  • fast turnaround time: we move fast, so you need to finish a few scenes per day

examples of humor we like:

  • deadpan absurdity: serious delivery of ridiculous lines
  • timing is everything: awkward pauses, delayed zooms, or punchlines that hit a second late
  • unexpected transitions: jump cuts that escalate or derail the joke
  • real images or effects: used at just the wrong time for maximum effect
  • keep it simple: stick figures, rough sketches, basic backgrounds
  • visual punchlines: zooms, stares, and cutaways that are the joke
